No they aren't. The IAP characters as completely separate. As ojtitus said, I was suffering from a mild case of confusion!
Back to regular price. Rats ! i missed the sale. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the next price drop...
It's well, WELL, worth the regular price and the current expansion is a great addition. I'm eagerly awaiting the next expansion' any day now, and am thrilled that they intend to release all of the official board game add-on's.
I know, it sounds great, but my wallet has been straining badly with all the games I bought this month. There are just too many great games coming out this summer !!!
Both the Reaper and Frostmarch are excellent but be warned there are a lot more expansions forthcoming, a lot more, and just for full disclosure I'm a massive fan and I own all the IAP. The Reaper introduces a new mechanic which adds a bit more player interaction but isn't essential and Frostmarch adds new victory conditions which really help to spice up the endgame. As for character packs they are all definitly fun and built around mixing-up core mechanics plus the in-app descriptions are very accurate so it easy to pick a preference; the devils minion is a personal favorite.
