Holy crap! Consider one copy sold! Now I can ponder upon new enemies and quests while waiting... not that I have finished Ice & Fire Any clue on when or how long until the expansion is released?
I sent them the file and the graphics last night. Wait patiently for them do their work. It's a lot of work! But we all hope you will enjoy it. I am waiting patiently in my little cell for you to rescue me. Norbert doesn't feed me very much and he has terrible breath.
My undead Warrior/mage (i like calling it a Vampyre) shall feed upon the new enemy. I have been lusting more blood!
I've been rescued or left to die in the alternate universes of palm and windows smartphones but never from the fascinating world of iphone/ipod touch. : ) There is a lot of game play other than rescuing me though. There are new baddies, new spells (I think), new objects including Victor's Little Angel charm, the Governor's daughter turns up again, Baba Yaga, and the magician Argimon and his mysterious friend Martelius are there and many of the greats from the Quest forums are there for you to talk to and to receive their gifts, for example, Silvergirl will give you something really luxurious. You get to travel by flying carpet.......I don't want to go on too much...... : )
I love you guys! xD I'm so glad your bringing so many updates and expansions to this game, this is one of my favorite games on the ipod touch! Anything you make is a instant buy for me!
Dang - seriously so great to see a niche game getting such great support. The Quest really is an amazing handheld RPG and im really looking forward to as many sequels as you guys can pump out.
Anyone aware of a map for the game? I found the Amazon Cave once and now wandering around trying to find it again. It's the one thing I wish the game had - is tagging the map. Define Lost! http://www.neverendingnights.com
This is great news! And just when I thought I would be free of my Quest addiction for at least a few months. One question: Is this new expansion geared toward higher-level characters? I've been through both the original Quest and Ice & Fire and managed to get up to level 23 which, for better or worse, is making things a little too easy for me. Thanks!
@ Donner: Sylon thinks 2 weeks to port the game and 2 weeks for Apple to process it. @ alexs: Here are the expected specs: * Rich storyline, exotic characters and places. * Thirty various quests and numerous puzzles of different complexity. * Monsters at levels 16-25 (in early part), 25-40 in the rest of the game and 7 special dungeons for levels 24-40. * Five new races of monsters, including wolves, spiders, knights etc. * Three new spells: two in Attack Magic, one in Protective Magic. * Five new books: three encyclopedias and two works of original fiction. Note that there are special dungeons you can only get into if you are that level. 25-40 should give you lots of room for challenges. : ) Besides the surface map there are roughly 30-32 dungeons of varying sizes -- small to very large. @ NeverendingNights-- Did you try here: http://www.thequesthints.de/ That's the only map I know of. Now I have a question: We can include script to restore your xp. Remember all those teasing messages---your lost xp can be restored somehow? We did include that script in --- HOLIII I think. Would you like it in HOLI? I can ask Elendil if it would be too hard to do it. : )
I have no idea what that last part meant, but I just got to the part where I get those messages and I want to recover my lost XP! Also, this question might be stupid but: Is this gonna be like Fire & Ice where you click it once, it opens and then goes into the original application?
That's not a stupid question---the answer I think is that however Ice and Fire worked, HOL will work too. I just asked Elendil via email but am pretty sure that is the way it will work. That last part meant that we waited to include the possibility of restoring your lost xp until a much later version of HOL because a friend of mine who was making expansions wanted to do it and never did--so I waited and waited and then finally did include the possibility. If you like I can ask Elendil to include the possibility in HOLI if it's not too much trouble. I can't promise he'll say yes, but again I can ask. : )
If you can, please do. I'm only Level 9 and I know I lost somewhere in the 1000's due to Lord Drennor's Mine or whatever it's called!
I just asked Elendil in same email re how game will work if he could add the code to some bushes, cracks, etc. By the way, cracks in HOL mean something--they are not decorative!!!! We hope you will stay awake for many hours, tap, tap, tapping and hit, hit, hitting those innocent looking cracks.
Remember that I'm still a noob at this game, only Level 9, but I noticed that there are circles in the map where there are cracks. Is it just decorative in the current game then?
Yes--at least as far as I recall. Get yourself up to level 20ish so you can play HOL! : ) I'm waiting to be rescued! I'm in a very, very small, locked room with a big dragon breathing down my neck and no hope at all except if a strong, spell-wielding, lock-breaking, smart hero gets me out of that hell! I mean cell! But releasing me is only a side quest--your main mission is to kill the minions of Kozney the Deathless and rescue those who need it, including members of the royal family, and do other, various tasks for other various needful parties. : ) But as far as I'm concerned---you should go immediately to Argimon's dungeon and RESCUE ME! : ) We had a lot of fun making HOL and hope you have a lot of fun playing it.
I probably will! If it's as good as the Quest... So the estimate is about a month until release? Well, it's summer so I could definitely get to level 20+ until then!
The game got 5 stars at Handango where it is available for the Palm/PocketPC players but I'm not sure that is mentionable in iphone forum. : ) I don't want to be banned. : ) Anyway, you can be the judge.
