I've won a $1,000 before on a high score contest too here in Toucharcade. Not sure if $1,000 is the largest so far.

You guys are very generous with the contests, but frankly I don't get it. It would be much better to spread the prize among multiple winners. For example there couple have been 10 $100 prize winners which would reward far more participants, ensuring that they will continue to support you, and participate in future contests, and I would imagine it would drawn more people to participate, as there are absolutely people who consider their chance of winning. With 10 winners your chance of winning is far greater, thus more participants. I'd still present the contest as $1000 reward in the title for click bait, but I don't understand the marketing effectiveness here.

 

Ouch! That must have hurt that less than 20 people played the game for 1k. I bet you guys were freaking out when you realized how it took only 3 hours from your original post for someone to win the money. Best of luck to you.
