I have finished two games recently and wanna leave some review: Vanquish Pros: Atmosphere Graphic Huge Boss Battle High Speed Action Weapon Upgrade System Some weapon are funny to use Cons: Poor Story Too hard for causal player Vanquish is a must buy for action/shooting fans!! The Darkness( a old game) Pros: Great Story and characters Very long game time Sound Track Good art style on environment Cons: Control Facial Animation The Darkness 2 will release on late 2011
I agree that both Bulletstorm and Dragon Age 2 demo are not attractive. Recently I find a game called Stacking is funny, but I wait the game has discount to buy it.
Yeah Vanquish is insane in the ol' action department; definitely underrated. I would've liked more levels though but what's there is awesome through and through. I can't say the same for Alan Wake... that whole game felt like one of those episodes of Lost where absolutely nothing happened.
Loved the Vanquish demo. Heard about the short story, still haven't picked it up yet but I want to. I'm waiting until it is low in price. Alan Wake was fun for a bit too, but it did just get a little bit boring. Not enough action or scares.
The boring part is the clever bit? You should come to London and check out a few boring exhibitions, they've always got some rubbish going on.
I picked up Pac-Man CE DX last night. It's on sale for 400 points, in the US at least. Seems pretty fun, but I'm not sure I'm sold on the sleeping-ghosts/all-ghosts-just-chase-you-directly aspect of this game. It's not very pac-man-like. But I've only played it once as that's all I had time for last night, and it is fun when you eat a long line of ghosts. I want to switch my HRAP EX-SE stick back to 4-way mode before playing it more. I rather wish I had two EX-SE's so I could keep one on 8-way and one on 4-way. Maybe some day....
The original Pac-Man CE didn't have the sleeping ghost/line of ghosts mechanic. I can't remember if DX has a mode without it, if not then it's a bit strange they'd keep the same name but change the game so much. I really like it though, it's like a cross between Pac-Man and Worm but fast-paced and frantic. The number of tight situations you get yourself into is one of my favourite things about the new game/s, almost everything is a close shave.
Yeah thats pretty great. And then it goes into slo-mo and you have to make a split second decision that will either save you or end your life. Also I just think the graphics are really great.
Boring to you maybe, I found the exploration and just navigation of the environments to be outstanding. Few (if none) games come close to having such a brilliant atmosphere as Alan Wake.
At the risk of starting another console war (but let's not), I thought the atmosphere in Heavy Rain was considerably better. Now that was some good storytelling... it's just a shame I don't feel any replay value in it.
That's what happens with a lot of single player games, it seems; they're so long and story-driven that you don't really feel like you have to go back to it. At least, not for a good, long time.
Alan Wake is a masterpiece in terms of atmosphere. Going through the woods is genuinely scary. Add to that the fact that the game has probably the best sound design I ever experienced in a videogame, and you have one horror game that doesn't scare you with cheap monster closet scares, but with tangible, thick atmosphere that consumes you the more you play it. Love this game so much.

Have Valve mentioned anything about the length of Portal 2? I notice it's going to be available on disc at full price... if it turns out the same length as the first game I'll be disappointed.
It will be a LOT longer, there's the main campaign which will be way longer than the original (at least over double the length). Along with a seperate co-op campaign, it should be worth the $60, but there probably won't be much replay value.
Here's the aforementioned Mortal Kombat gameplay: Jax/Sonya vs Sektor/Cyrax GDC Gameplay Video #4 - Mortal Kombat 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eAIrzYaxRQ&feature=player_embedded Best of everything: game comes out next month and there will be a demo soon.
A gamespot review said that the campaign itself is twice as long and the Co op is also twice as long as the first game so we're looking at around 4 times as long.
Can someone help me decide between Black Ops and Red Dead Redemption. They're both the same price. I love GTA games a lot, and that's why I want Red Dead. I want Black Ops for zombies, since I got bored really fast with MW2 MP, and I'll probably play the campaign, but little multiplayer, just zombies for me. Someone wanna help?
