i was not as much a fan of the first game, but this game looks like a ton of fun, and the gameplay style i like, so it will be a first day purchase for me, early adoption sale or not thanks for the hard work!

I'm curious how the items are worked into the gameplay. Are they just temporary items that you use for the particular battle that you're in, after which they disappear? Or can you carry them over between levels?
I know deep down that I am going to suck balls at this game, but I got to buy it day one, just because of the song in the video, crazy ass vikings!
the items are permanent. before each battle you can equip each hero with one item. you won't be able to switch between items once the battle is on. if you restart the map or begin a new one, new items can be chosen. hehe. the game is easy to understand. like it's said in the song: use good terrain, use units that counter other units and everything should be fine. BTW: ToH just passed the review process. tomorrow it's available! yeah!
