First thing I thought whe I saw this was the game "From Dust" that released a few days ago on PC I believe. And that is one sick looking game. If the gameplay is anything like that, then I'm sold haha. I would love to see the ability to create all types of landscapes, from water to rivers to lava to canyons, waterfalls, to forests to deserts. Though, the actual world itself looks really puny in comparison to it's enourmous rivers and mountains, so that might not work out. But we'll see. Also, natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and floods would be great additions to the game. Think about implimenting that! P.S. I like the fact there are bird creatures too. You guys should really expand on that. Maybe there could be amphibious types of animals, then only land animals, and also some types of creatures that can be in land and water. It could really add another level of strategy to the game if the idea is correctly executed.
I've just spent a week or so optimising Topia for slower devices. For the last few months it's been pretty much iPad2 only. iPad1 was running the game at around 10 FPS. I spent a lot of time reading up on the most efficient ways of using cooler GL features (long technical description of what I did HERE ) and it's now running at 30FPS on all devices. iPad2 of course has enhanced shaders (will have more) iPad2, 3GS and 3rd gen iPod Touch all feature Multisample Antialiasing. I guess this might seem like a slightly boring update but it all means we can now focus on Gameplay again without the nagging worry that we're making an iPad2/iPhone5 only game The pic shows iPhone4 Retina.
Just amazing! Especially if you add those polar bears and penguins Josh was talking to you on twitter
Looks a lot like Spore and I love that! I would love it if you were able to guide the creatures into an advance civilization. That would be amazing! Anyways cant wait for this one
Awesome, so I heard you guys added line-drawing control of the herds. That sounds like it will be amazing.
Yes - line drawing control, came out pretty cool. Some other ideas about how animals are born should make gameplay really interesting. From what Glenn says, seems to run great on 4S.
Forgive me if people already asked but is this exclusively for ipad? It looks really nice and if its universal i look forward to getting it for my ipod.
