True! Fun Fact: R. Type is actually R-Type on my store. Probably because the previously published EA version was labelled R-Type (World) or R-Type (International) as they typically do.
Adding two more nominees to complete the set of five..I therefore nominate sky gamblers:Cold War and leisure suit Larry..
The nomination period has ended. Due to a three way tie for 10th place only 9 games will be included in this weeks poll. Here are the nomination results. The GOTW poll is now live. Voters are encouraged to discuss their decision. Developers may not vote for their own game. New user votes subject to review.
Went with Sine Mora. I actually had fun with this one all throughout the game, despite what i thought was lacking in the controls. Played it more than anything else in this bunch. Futuridium is a close second for me. Great arcade type shooter, definitely done right. I only got to play Soul Savior today as a part of my backlog, and im really digging it. Breach and Clear is a solid TBS game. I will spend more time with this one for sure.
Breach and Clear easily gets my vote. I'm a sucker for Turn-Based Strategy games so this was a no-brainer for me.
No debating my choice this week. Despite some who felt it needs relative touch controls, Sine Mora is not only my GoTW but in my top games of the year. Not only is it graphically stunning, the story, bosses and gameplay are more engrossing than any shmup I've played on iOS. Normally I like to pick iOS originals, but my second pick, Breach & Clear, is a solid game - just not quite there (missions too short, no story to connect with). As far as RT for Sine Mora, sure I wouldn't mind the option but I found the joystick perfectly fine (never would survive challenging maneuvers like the infamous garage chute if they weren't). Fantastic game IMO.
Thanks in advance to anyone who votes for Breach & Clear. We totally appreciate it! Even if we don't win, thanks for the nomination! I'm still ecstatic that Saturday Morning RPG managed to win last year, so at least we got one of these things under our belt.
