Seriously Bat Outta Hell... I can read. You don't have to repeat. IF what is true? If you have to pay more for new weapons, ships... or that you have to pay for some sort of "expansion" pack. We have no idea. Not to get waaaay off topic... but... Even IF it was true, why would that necessarily be disappointing? We don't have any idea what we would be paying for. Could be worth it. I dislike assumptions, but not as much as I dislike complaining about those assumptions. There was a blurb about in game purchases back at WWDC when this was annouced - I'm curious what that will entail. I would imagine that I would be willing to only pay for significant upgrades (new systems/galaxies - not ships and weapons). Or maybe they'll start the game @ a low price-point = .99 - if you like the basics, you can invest more to get a more complete game. Regardless, I'm looking forward to Friday's announcement.
Small update: http://wireless.ign.com/articles/101/1019475p1.html Apparently, Freeverse is running a contest (via Twitter) to allow you to name a planet/system... Hopefully the news coming on Friday will be a little bigger than this... new video/possible release date...? Kinda cool either though.
I guess not. I don't use Twitter but thought of planet tho!!!! Planet Launch Date??!!!! Its a million light years away in the sector of Hurry Up coz im impatient
I think I am entitled to my own opinion. It's pretty clear that I don't want to pay extra to play with more than one ship. I never mentioned anything else about paying for 'expansion pack' or anything else. Don't bash on other people's posts, when you are trying to prove a point about something different. Back to the topic. And what happened to the big announcement that was meant to be out Friday? Was that meant to be the planet naming competition?
Ugh. Yes, you are entitled. Did I say you weren't? I don't want to pay extra for a ship either... but your post only said if you have to pay more, it would be a disappointment. You need to clarify what you imagine you would be paying for, before you whine about it. Pure speculation - and then complaining about it just annoys me. Sorry. And yah, the general conclusion is the Friday announcement was for the Twitter contest.
New interview with a Warp Gate developer on pocketgamer: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Warpgate/news.asp?c=15297 Some good stuff - I highly suggest you read it.
I think you either have a problem with your emotions or a problem with reading comprehension. Please read my original post again on what I was referring to. It's very clear. What's wrong with commenting on speculation? You've said basically the thing (see bold section), and yet when it comes out of other's posts it annoys you? I'm not normally this persistent with arguments but sometimes just need to talk back when grief is given for no good reason.
Pocket Gamer UK ran two articles on Warpgate over the past week. Here is the latest one. http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Warpgate/news.asp?c=15297

The new winners will be announced on October 1st, 2009 contest extension will allow four more winners Freeverse is pleased to announce the winner of the Warpgate "Name a Planet" contest Shermy808, for their planet, "Hibernicus, inhabited by a bear-like species who make for terrible space pilots."

Any word on this? I know initially there was quite some buzz going on about it and then it just seemed to fizzle out.
Well it's the first today. Four new contest winners and maybe a release date!!! At the very least, some info wouldn't come a miss
