Consider Cowboy Guns or Pirate's Treasure. Also Red Nova has strong plot elements despite primarily being a survival game.

Albiet lacking a campaign mode I am compelled by my personal mission to mention it in every DSS inquiry thread to recommend Meow Meow Happy Fight; MMHF is a kinetic and varied DSS. That no one else has mentioned it just impeached their creditability.

That's not a DSS. It's a TPS, third person shooter.

    Tomb raider

Laura Croft and the guardian of light.

Surprised nobody mentioned this. It's a DSS that has a good story.

Max Adventure and Lara Croft are good. I also like Call of Mini: Zombies, Age of Zombies, Assault Commando and Garters & Ghouls.

Call of Mini is a FPS . . . but it does have a DSS feel, and its lots of fun.

It's kind of a DSS mixed with a 3D platformer. But I agree that it's a great choice.

Totally thought COM:Z was a DSS. It is actually a TPS. Oh well,I still enjoy it.

Space Miner isn't really a DSS. Still a great game, though.

Space Miner was a real surprise when it came out about 1-1/2 years ago. For what is considered an old game by app-store standards, it is still by far one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Even my girlfriend (non-gamer) played the campaign twice because it was that good. Love the pinata asteroid.

I was extremely surprised by how good Lara Croft was. My only real complaint was the size of the controls on the iPad. Wish they were a little bigger given the size of the screen but other than that two thumbs way up especially at .99 cents where it is priced for the holidays. True no brainer.
