In order to escape the ever advancing zombie horde, players must use a combination of wits and brawn to be the first to the heliport and certain escape. The only problem is, the zombies are everywhere, they appear to be very hungry and your opponents would really prefer if you didn't escape. However, there’s no need to take this horde on your own. The game allows up to 4 other human or AI players to join in on the fun. AI players can be chosen from 10 different characters, each with a unique play style. Take on the Standard Game Mode, building your game board one tile at a time and killing zombies within the confines of the official Zombies!!! rules. Generated Town Mode drops the players into a premade town with Zombies in wait to make you their next meal. Survival Mode is the ultimate test: You versus a town full of zombies! How long can you last? Not Dead Yet is a fun expansion on the board game that includes additional cards and animations. It's not hard to get into, which is always a plus when you want to play with real people. And the whole idea of surviving in a Zombie-infested town is well realized. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #28 strivemind, Jul 15, 2013 I don't know how I missed the soft launch, being Canadian. HungarianUrinalCakes Well-Known Member Jan 14, 2012 87 0 0 Saskatchewan, Canada #36 HungarianUrinalCakes, Jul 16, 2013 It seems faithful. I was put off a little bit by the cartoonish graphics because I favoured the more realistic graphics of the actual board game. But, they used the original graphics for all of the cards and the newer graphics kind of grew on me. The rules are all intact and you no longer have to struggle to remember to use doorways into buildings. Haha funkyflychicken Well-Known Member Jan 13, 2010 92 0 0 #37 funkyflychicken, Jul 16, 2013 Superior to the physical board game This app is phenomenal. I have it on Windows 8 PC, and had been beta testing the iOS version for a good while. It didn't disappoint. Knowing that hardly any Surface/Win 8 tablets are out there, there wasn't a good portable option until this iOS release. I really hoped Babaroga would be able to release this outside of Microsofts grasp, and am glad to see it finally happen. The original board game was one of the first "niche/hobby" games my family and I tried. We enjoyed it, but it was a bit long and fiddly with allow the moving zombies, trying to place and pick up (especially pick up) the little heart and bullet tokens. As an above poster mentioned, doorways often times slipped memory and buildings would get entered incorrectly, dice rolls would go too far (again with daughter mostly) knocking zombies over. This app takes care of all of that, in a nice, cartoonish package. The original cards and art is all there, but the zombies and town tiles are made up in a 3D cartoonish sorta way. It is at first a bit odd, with the more realistic images on the cards, but it works. Multiple modes of play give plenty of options, and Im sure they have plans for other expansions via IAP eventually. Would also be nice if Babaroga made a "Variants" option where you could select from a bunch of official and fan made variants (loads of em on boardgamegeek.com) and change the game up even more. Great bargain at 5 bucks. Runs smooth and is very polished on my iPad4. Good Job, Babaroga! My question: too many boardgame translations have terrible manuals/tutorials. How is it in this? And does it being a port leave it "mushy" feeling, like a game w/an HTML5 wrapper?
