I am seriously considering swapping my iPad mini 4 for a JXD S192K... is this a terrible idea? Talk me down! Or encourage me For those that aren’t familiar with it http://www.jxdofficial.com/preselling-jxd-s192-game-cosole-powered-by-rk3288-4gb-ddr3-64gb-storage-black-4-meter-hdmi-cable-as-a-gift.html
I wouldn't, get a better iPad instead The ARM GPU is miles behind Apple's. Also, unless I missed something important, it's from somewhere 2013/14. Could only find the general T760 release date, but none for the 764 specifically. UPDATE: Found it. *Announced* either January or August 2014, depending if it's US or proper date format https://www.notebookcheck.net/Rockchip-RK3288-SoC-Benchmarks-and-Specs.148374.0.html For comparison: Mali-764 clocks in at around 125 GFLOPS. Apple's first own GPU - the one in the iPhone X - is estimated at 300-450 GFLOPS. Compare their Geekbench scores and laugh iPad Pro (which still uses a PowerVR GPU) clocks in at 3-10 times faster than the T764. https://browser.geekbench.com/ios_devices/47 https://www.notebookcheck.net/Rockchip-RK3288-SoC-Benchmarks-and-Specs.148374.0.html On the other hand, you get a handheld gaming console with buttons and such; as opposed to a touch-only device like an iPad. Prices are roughly equivalent, latest iPad with 32GB SSD comes for 330$, 128GB cost 100$ more.
thanks for replying! Being the lover of old school gaming that I am the thought of having a portable tablet that I could play n64 and playstion games on is very tempting but after watching a few review videos I see the problems with the system. Perhaps I won’t trade my iPad for it but im not totally sure I don’t want one of these at some point
