Here's a great new project, I'm collaborating with Ryan Jackson from Endless Hallway. As well as having a cool band he's a great artist too. UPDATE: Oct '13 We're back on track with development of Ashley Ao. See the latest posts in this thread for details. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Ryan here, Yes, that image is using current in game art. it will certainly improve as we get closer to completion.
Hi, we'll be posting some gameplay preview videos, so you'll get to see it in action soon. We've been working hard on cool gameplay elements and fluid character animations... so you'll be pleased with the end result As Ryan mentioned that art and the art style is what we're using in-game.
Thank you! We'll be posting more art in this thread every couple days or so, let us know what you think!
Awesome, she's like a cross between Faith from Mirror's Edge and Samus from Metroid. Also kudos for not making her look like a 90 lb model. How come she's holding an invisible gun though?
So does the weapon materialise out of thin air like Mass Effect's onmi-tool? Anyway, what is the gameplay going to be like? Will she be nimbly jumping around doing kicks off walls into double backflips into vents and moving platforms? Will she be running around with a variety of crazy weapons? I'm also curious about the setting. Why is she in a field? Is this gonna be like the old Castlevanias where the hero is outside and makes his way to the castle? Or is this its own separate level?
The most I can share about the combat at this point is that it will be focused on gymnastic type action. The game will take place across many varied geographic settings.
Dark Clouds Landscape Well it's tempting to post some more of the character models, I was plugging in some of the animations in today and am really pleased with the smoothness and realistic feel of the running... ...but I'd best wait until we both say 'ok, no more polish - that's the one!' So in the meanwhile here's another outside landscape that will link destinations. I was also testing some control mechanics today. When I'm more happy with them would you like to help us test them out? Shaz
WOW!!! I do not know why but I get on 'Outcast' vibe from those arts (an old game, one of my favorite). Please keep up informed on how it progress!
I never played Outcast, but if it's one of your favourite games... then that can't be a bad comparison We'll be updating this thread every week or so. So stay tuned...
Imho it was a action adventure masterpiece, both in style/story and technically (all voxels). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orY376uYGCY&sns=em You were a soldier transported with a Stargate to a distant planet where local people adore you like a god and you try to come back to Earth while freeing the population. I have to try if the game works in my computer now. I'll wait eagerly for news about project 'Orion'.
