Hey guys, I used to have an Android phone and an iPad 2. When I bought the iPad, I was like 'jeez how did I spend so much time on Battleheart and Dungeon Hunter 1 & 2 on a 3.7 inch screen?' (It was a Milestone 2, known as Droid 2 in the us). One year later I have an iPhone 4S and there are games like Fangz, Miss Claire Garden and Tower of Fortune that I prefer to play on the tinier screen, something I never thought I'd come back to. Surpisingly I prefer Plasma-sky on the iPhone too since it's not bullet hell like Cave shooters. Since my phone space is more limited (I use it for my music too) and I like to play in bed, which is cumbersome on the iPad, which games do you guys prefer on the smaller screen, if any?
Probably only games which have bad oversized ipad controls which are ok on the iphone. Also, maybe some tilt games, cause ipad games sometimes get heavy. But generally never. And prefer hdmi tv over ipad screen.

Obviously portability is the main reason I prefer gaming on it than the ipad MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #7 MidianGTX, Apr 27, 2013 Practically nothing. I can imagine something like Ridiculous Fishing being comfortable on the small screen, but anything with touch controls, not so much. It was good while it lasted, but I can't go back. tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,067 44 48 #8 tops2, Apr 27, 2013 For the games I'm interested in, I much prefer them on the iPod touch. Much more comfortable to hold for extended period and the portability is great. Awesome for the extended bathroom breaks during the day. ;-) For some reason over time, I'm finding I'm using my iPad 3 less and less and just using the iPod touch mostly cause its too "heavy" for extended use if I'm holding it like a book. It's fine if I rest it on the bed or on my lap. I'm going to get the iPad mini 2 whenever it comes out so I may use that much more since I really prefer that size over the full size iPad. I'll probably get one if it gets a retina display. The full sized iPad is tiring to carry around (I use it at work for non gaming stuff). The Touch is still used to look up games sales, balance my checkbook, lookup passwords, etc but only a few games played like Revolt as it won't boot on the iPad but that's only played while at work. I no longer surf the web with it either. The Touch still holds plenty of value for me but not so much as the gaming device it once was. I've found it difficult going back to a smaller screen size after using the iPad. Board games and pinball games are particularly horrible on this device, even though they can still be playable. ipad3 - best with card games like Playdek titles. Also pretty good with pinball games, and most board games, and strategy titles. This bigger screen also wins hands down on the internet browsing. Also makes the best desk clock/night light, and music player, but the last bit doesnt matter since i have a subwoofer i can attach any idevice into. Speaking of music, Rhythm games work best on the large screen as well. ipad mini - best size for gaming with the device held on both hands. the weight is also ideal. Works decently with tilt games as well, but feels much better than the 4s even in tilt games because of the larger screen. Non-retina games look gorgeous on the mini still because of the smaller pixel size. Without retina, browsing just feels fuzzy. My overall thoughts: For gaming, the mini wins it for me. Cant wait til apple releases a retina ipad mini, but we all know it's going to be overpriced and a little heavier when it's out. For browsing and mostly work stuff, ipad3 works best. iPhone also does almost everything the other 2 does, so it's best in cases where i dont have those 2, or as a backup for everything i do as it can go with me literally everywhere. On the downside, i cant bring all 3 devices simultaneously at the same, so i usually leave the ipad3 at home, til i made the decision of letting my father-in-law have it. I still play with it sometimes, but i usually pick up the mini as my go-to device, both for work or play.
