Mythbuster Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2008 1,252 15 38 Journalist In the middle of nowhere #3 Mythbuster, Dec 3, 2012 Well ... this is a real good board game an I am glad that somebody made an iPad Version ... but ... I think, they had the plan to bring it before x-Mas into the AppStore ... After rebooting I had no crashes on my iPad Mini but there seems to be one bug in the rule implementation! And the Tutorial is not the best ... if you don't know the real game at all you will be left with open questions ... If they will fix the bugs it is a great deal and a must have for board game fans ... thevagrant Well-Known Member Jun 8, 2009 631 0 0 #4 thevagrant, Dec 3, 2012 Yeah, the first impressions over BGG are not that positive. I'll wait till it's properly ironed out before buying. sizzlakalonji Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Apr 16, 2009 5,712 1 0 Indiana, USA #5 sizzlakalonji, Dec 3, 2012 Ok, so the tutorial is horrible. No doubt about that. However, the rules are very simple, and can be picked up relatively easily. This isn't an excuse...there really is no reason why a board game app should be released with so little help, but other than that, I've really enjoyed this. This is more to do with the actual gameplay than the app features. The UI isn't the greatest, the animations are bare bones, etc. but I still have no regrets at all about buying this because the game is FUN. I've never played the original, but I got the hang of the basics after three games. The games are very quick as well which is a plus. I'd say each game lasts around 5 minutes. There are a number of reports of slow animations, etc. on BGG, but I haven't run into any. I'm pretty happy with this all things considered, although there is a lot of room for polish. thevagrant Well-Known Member Jun 8, 2009 631 0 0 #6 thevagrant, Dec 3, 2012 Could you please tell us on which machine you played it? I have to agree 100%! And at least at Single Player mode I had no crashes! And the AI is well done! I am sure, the developer will update this game ... with some polish it is a real gem! GOTW for me so far. This is so much fun! I'm really liking the 3 random event cards...it means different strategy for every game. I'll probably wait for an update on this one cause of reports saying that the game has a few bugs. I might end up getting it regardless cause I love boardgames on the ipad. The more complex the more the AI has to think. 2. I do not care about the few seconds. I have to say, it makes the game even more realistic ... and a small slow down is not the worst for an 'old fashioned Board game' ... sizzlakalonji Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Apr 16, 2009 5,712 1 0 Indiana, USA #16 sizzlakalonji, Dec 4, 2012 I think the slowdowns are device specific. I have an iPad 2 and there are no slowdowns at all. The AI turns feel perfectly normal to me. mblamar Member Jun 7, 2012 19 0 1 #17 mblamar, Dec 4, 2012 Regarding the lag: I don't think it's graphics so much as AI that's causing the slowdown. Annoying, but no dealbreaker. Hopefully an update will improve performance. crunc Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2008 4,575 0 0 #18 crunc, Dec 4, 2012 What is the bug in the rules implementation? Incorrectly following the rules is a deal killer for me, but hopefully they fix this. This is by the folks that made the unofficial Dominion app, right? Mythbuster Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2008 1,252 15 38 Journalist In the middle of nowhere #19 Mythbuster, Dec 4, 2012 It will let you play a location ability on the same turn you picked it up. The location tiles are a little hazy compared to everything else. Yes, they go to fix it.
