I just don't want to dish out a lot on another game that's hyped to death back in the day but in this day and age would be nothing special. I will probably check CT out though.
Still the same old CT that we all loved... But the iOS version doesnt have the best controls. Floating vstick works, but isnt as responsive as everyone hoped for. I hope they just put in directional buttons instead, or just fix the vstick at least.
The PS1 version is NOT better, the loading times are absolutly god awful, stay far away!! Best versions are DS, SNES and then I guess ios from what I hear, Im debating buying it.
I've totally enjoyed it so far! However, since I find myself wanting 5-10 minutes of play time a lot, I'll jump into FFIII to grind a few minutes, then save & quit. With CT, it's more of an involved linear story and you can't save as often because of the length of some parts before reaching a save spot. But CT's story is so much better overall.
CT is more than worth it if you like any ff game. It has a crazy, yet interesting story and TONS of extra content all throughout the game, Square really needs to redo Chrono Cross tho. But long story short, if you buy Chrono Trigger, you will NOT REGRET IT! Hope I helped any.
I just fired up the game for the first time since i installed iOS6 on my iPad 2. Sadly there are some glitches now... has anyone seen this aswell? Collored boxes were moving sprites should be? One should also note that the introduced extra endings after begnning with the PSX version. And these just to have a reason to create the sequel (adding extra characters just so the sequell makes sense ect.). All in all more contend issent always better. Even the DS/iOS Version is not how it was intended to play, adding extra dungons just to be able to sell it again to the core fans.
Hmmm, strange. Is there any way i could reinstall the game without loosing my savegame? It seems like i am not the only one. http://www.yabbforum.com/view.php?id=20120920001459AA8fawf
I hope they know of this and are planing on fixing it soon. This game is to good to be played with such a massive optical flaw.
Chrono Trigger had a bug fix update already. But as far as i know it was nothing as major as laking iOS 6 compatibility. Release 12-08-2011, Version 1.0.1 2-14-2012 I don´t know what they fixed but one of the bug reports was that the gametimer kept running while the App was minimized. http://www.deltaattack.com/2011/12/09/bummer-alert-chrono-trigger-has-a-minor-bug/ So i assume that we will get a fix on this this year unless it´s something major that requires tons of manpower. I wonder how iOS6 was able to cause this anyway... the only thing i can see might be a lack of RAM now that iOS sucks 300mb just for running with no real extra tasks..., but i am not a coder so who knows what might just be different in the iOS dev kid now.
Secred of Mana recived it´s iOS 6 update a cupple of days ago. Today Chrono Trigger was released for android. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/29/chrono-trigger-now-available-on-android-unavailable-on-nothing/ I guess there is hope that this will get fixed soon.
Did anybody try Chrono Trigger on an IPad 2 and how did it look? I have heard a lot of moaning re: "vaseline filter" on the visuals and some other stuff that supposedly makes it much inferior to DS/SNES original (music?), is there actually any truth to it?
