You're probably thinking of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls because I had mentioned it the other day, and it got released yesterday.
Never mind I just read the dev blog and they said Alpha is purely internal. Can't wait to apply for beta!
But maybe it was just me they didn't want With all the closed or open betas nowadays people seem to expect devs to have them test their software for them.
Not expecting, but certainly hoping I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to participate in the beta test as long as you undertand it is a favor to the dev, not a reward to the player. It could very well be a broken game and you are dedicating your time to help make it better. I've beta tested quite a few games and while I of course get excited to get a first look at some of my favorites, I certainly don't expect a finished product. I am pretty sure the devs covered this in their blog here - http://www.grimrock.net/2011/09/22/our-release-plans/#more-718 So, just to recap: 1. Our goal is to get the game done during this year. 2. We release on PC first, followed by iOS and Mac. 3. The game will kick ass! I am ready to buy it for PC as soon as it comes out. Should be a good one! I love Undercroft, Eye of the Beholder, The Quest... I can't get enough of em!
Oh, my fault then, missed that piece of information. Anyway, I'll wait if this comes and supports my 3GS; if not, I'll snatch it over Steam for my PC.
Now in Beta! I found this on this video on the beta on the Escapist! Cannot wait for the ios versions to be developed http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/114398-Legend-of-Grimrock-Goes-Beta-With-a-Video
Any news on this? Did it make the PC by the end of 2011 (don't use PC's myself so wouldn't know!)... What's the plans for IOS now? Any estimated release date? Cheers, Jamie.
No PC release yet, still watching this closely. Last news were posted shortly before X-mas, check them here: http://www.grimrock.net/
Wow - hadn't seen the site - or that latest beta demo vid - before. What an amazing game... never thought I'd get the same feeling as I did when I first played DungeonMaster again... but I just did. This, for me, is the only game I care about being released on the iPad in 2012!!! Jamie.
