Online leaderboards always seem to get a bunch of bogus scores, but you can usually spot the crazy ones. It helps to compete against GC friends and names you recognize from the forum.
Now that I'm looking, there seems to be a few Game Center achievements that "haven't heard the news". The Easy Part: Description says to complete all 20 original levels. Done, but no cigar. Distance Diver: Travel a kilometre underwater, says the description. My stats tells me I've swum 1K, but Game Center doesn't want to know. I'll try the ol' turn-it-off-and-turn-it-on-again thing and see what happens.
Well, here's what I did: 1. Logged out of Game Center. 2. Quit Game Center from the multi-tasking bar. 3. Reset the iPod. 4. Started Mos Speedrun. 5. Logged in to Game Center from Mos Speedrun and started a game. Result: 2 new achievements! Master Completionist and Speedking. I didn't even know I had completed these achievementsĀI'd thought they required winning awards on the new levels, not just the original 20. Speedrunner, Distance Diver, and The Easy Part are still dead, though. Oh well. I know I've achieved those medals, and that's what's important, right? <weeps>
Woohoo, cheers Nick. New levels are always welcome I've got 4 now, including NickMap (test level?).. By the way, I can see that there are time limits and coins/diamonds to collect on these, but it doesn't seem to unlock any medals if you complete the different objectives. Are there any plans to add these?
Hi steviebwoy, we aren't planning to add this to the downloadable levels at the moment, but when there are enough of them we will put them into the game as proper levels with badges and GC scoreboards Nick
This is such a great game. When I began level 5-5, and saw what I was faced with, I laughed out loud at the shameless cruelty of it. Ten minutes later I was a nervous wreck. Took me the best part of an hour to beat it, and I don't think I'll have the heart to try winning the medals until I've had a few days to recover. And the ending! I'm totally serious when I say I think this is my favourite ending to a video gameĀever. It made me laugh, and it even made my eyes dribble a little bit. If anyone reading this needs some encouragement in the task of completing 5-5, then you should know that a bonus brilliant chiptune from Je mappelle awaits you on the other side. Thank you, Nick and the rest of the physmo team, for creating this wonderful thing!
Thank you happy w for the lovely message I have to admit that I was laughing evilly while designing 5-5. We tried to make the game that we wanted to play, we are lucky that other people enjoy it too! Cheers Nick
Oh good heavens! I struggled enough with 5-1, let alone getting any further than that! Do you think now that you've gone all-out with the difficulty, you'll create some slightly easier levels again, or will you just continue to ramp up the cruelty? Failing that, is there any chance of a level editor for us to make our own levels?
hehe... I'm VERY happy with the harder levels... even though i got through world 5 the day it was released, it took me pretty much ALL DAY to get through it... I can't say that about other quick level platformers... if they gave us easier levels, there'd be less of a challenge, and we'd get through em too quickly... a level editor would be PURE PERFECTION, and really, I could see that pushing this over LoE for a lot of people.
Uh how long? I don't really want to send all these links to myself since I only have one currently so how soon?
HA!!! I have been trying and trying and trying to beat your times on 1 + 2 and I now see that these will keep me busy for quite a while!!! hehe... It is nice not being #1 on my friends list anymore though! =oD **edit** hehe, just saw you beat my 3 time as well... thank you for giving me more drive to play this game after getting every medal... =oD
uhhh... yeah I have... I've got all 3 hook games... =oP and I just need to find out how to cut a couple seconds from my times... i know it's possible... =oP **edit** pretty sure that just went right over my head I don't even care if I beat him... just getting within tenth's of a second will make me happy!
Just sat down for 2 hours and finished the game. Lovely ending! Thank you very much for one of the best iOS platforming experiences.
