It has all the yummy goodness of a great casual game without all the yucky timers and IAPs that usually accompany them. The graphics and sounds are excellent, there are plenty and frequent upgrade and unlockable pyrotechnics, and best of all - the game play is fun. quebecotr Well-Known Member Jun 5, 2010 841 0 16 Male Retired teacher Milwaukee, WI #5 quebecotr, Jun 25, 2014 Last edited: Jun 25, 2014 Game Impressions I completely agree. This is a great matching game, and all the extra elements of power-ups and new animals being added as the game is played, along with the numerous goals and achievements make this game really fun and varied. My wife has been playing it for the last two hours and loves it. It is a great game to play together, and to play with kids. Younger kids can easily play this, and the graphics are perfect for that age. Yet, it has enough diversity and complexity to hold an adult's attention. This came out of nowhere for me and it is a very pleasant surprise. I'm really glad I took a chance on the game, and for the price, it's a total no-brainer if you like this type of gaming experience. Also: complete game with no IAPs !!! For me, that's reason enough to support this dev. Bonus: it's a really fun and polished game. Highly recommended from me, for what it's worth. Good luck to the devs with sales. i think Apple really needs to feature this game; it's a winner. redribbon Well-Known Member Jun 11, 2010 2,799 53 48 entepreanur, programmer #6 redribbon, Jun 25, 2014 agree with the review above. this is a new mechanism in match three game. fun and you dont need to dealing with all the timer bullish*t. oh the install size is quite big: 618.7mb playerhayter Member Jun 25, 2014 10 0 0 #7 playerhayter, Jun 25, 2014 Last edited: Jun 25, 2014 Feeding Time (by Incubator Games) Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel http://www.incubatorgames.com/feedingtime Hey all, we just released our first independent game Feeding Time on Universal iOS! After years of doing work-for-hire projects and designing games like Critter Crunch and Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes (at Capybara Games), our small team at Incubator Games in Toronto have been polishing and fine-tuning this one for years and are very proud to finally release it today. Special launch price of $0.99! If you buy it, please give it a rating in the App Store! Happy to answer any questions here too. I have already left my 5 star review on the App Store. playerhayter Member Jun 25, 2014 10 0 0 #9 playerhayter, Jun 26, 2014 Thanks for the review! My only concern is the install size is a bit large at 621 MB. playerhayter Member Jun 25, 2014 10 0 0 #12 playerhayter, Jun 26, 2014 It's made in Unity, and there's a TON of assets and animations going on, along with some 3D animation effects in the background. Explains the file size a bit. Incubator Active Member Aug 3, 2010 30 0 0 Toronto http://www.incubatorgames.com/ #13 Incubator, Jun 26, 2014 Hi guys. First up, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you're all enjoying it so far, and I hope you leave us a review and help us get noticed! Since it's our first original release on the AppStore we've got a bit of an uphill battle, and any help would be greatly appreciated. As for the file size, yes, it's fairly hefty once installed. The main reason for this is that we wanted to do a universal build for all the devices, but not skimp out on the art. The build contains full retina support for the newest iPhones/iPads, as well as assets for all the older devices. Since hand-drawn animations also added a lot of personality, we went with those instead of the cheaper Flash-style approach, and they all added up in the end. On our development blog I'm starting a series of posts that goes a bit deeper into the art created for Feeding Time, which can be found here if you're interested: http://www.incubatorgames.com/index.php/20140625/art-feeding-time-part-1/ Hopefully we made the right call and the visual quality proves to be worth the extra space! Visuals are really good - all the little extras going on in the background are really cool ! I'm liking this so much that I've gifted it to a couple of people already. This is really a great game; right now, we're trying to get the elusive 60 thousand points achievement. Nearly there a couple of times; just a few hundred points away Getting into the second and third environments make this game even more fun. Same for me and my wife ! We played for hours and we're experiencing tremors because we can't get any higher in the levels, and all the goals have been reached. There still are bonus goals popping up, but we don't know how many are left. We know the game just came out, but we still can't wait to see added levels ! That's some dedication, and it's definitely great to hear that you enjoyed it enough to stick with it. Deciding just how much content to put in was tricky due to budget constraints and the fact that so many iOS games are only played for a few minutes. There are quite a few goals left over once you reach level 50, but for now that cuts off the last badge/powerup upgrade. Incidentally, what were some of your favourite upgrades in the game? slewis7 Well-Known Member Apr 6, 2011 3,775 41 48 Male Retired! Houston, TX #20 slewis7, Jun 27, 2014 That final upgrade of the "mask" power seems pretty powerful, but surprisingly my scores have not jumped up with it. In fact, one interesting aspect I found in the game is that as I progressed, I didn't see the newly unlocked capabilities as making it any easier to get high scores; instead it just added some variety and perhaps strategy to the game. Because of this, no single unlock stood out for me; I enjoyed them all. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
