I'm not making this up, I struggle reading the dialogue as my eyes keep reading ROFL instead of ROLF.
I am told this game has places in many "top ten best game ever" lists. I have not played it to recommend it, it is just US$2.99, it won't hurt to try... BTW, looks like it is US-only for now. It is not available in Japan and US...
With the TA review and all I went ahead and picked it up along with shining force for a buck. I can't resist turn based RPGs. There's a couple being released soon I know I'll have to have. Oh well, I definatly have generes I have to have.
Not in Germany either But I remember this as a really really great game (of the classic RPGs, only Phantasy Star IV was even better).
And Shining Force dropped to a dollar with this release. Huh. Got that when it came out and I haven't even played it yet...I'll wait to hear more about this one before making the same mistake, I guess.
If you like long old school turned based RPG's, you'll like this. I played this through when I was a kid on the Genesis. It's pretty hard and the game goes on and on. Personally this is my favorite game in the Phantasy Star series.
Picked this up last...LOVING IT! I never played the original, despite practically being raised by Nintendo & Sega . It's a great game though, awesome controls paired with classic graphics and a (seemingly) deep story make for a great purchase! One problem though: I've had to restart 3 times now because every time I die, I get brought back to the main menu and it says there's no save file! Am I just dying too early? Granted, I'm being lazy in combat, so I'm not actually that frustrated by my deaths/restarts. What worries me, however, is not knowing WHEN a save is going to be available, if ever. Also, I wish there was more guidance. From the very start, the commander just says to go inspect something. He doesn't say where or how, so I never know what to do or how to do it! Whether you're a fan of the original or a newcomer like me, this is a great game that should fit right in with any gamers TBS-RPG collection
You need to find a save spot -- there's one in the first city. The game saves your progress if you quit, but brings you back to the most recent save spot if you die. If you don't use a save-spot, then it's back to the beginning.
