Currently getting extra dev help for Fargoal 2 since I haven't had time to work on it.

You want a pre release code to a free game that's already been released?
You realize those codes were for hoddapy bird, right?

No worries. It was a welcome change from the complaining at MadGarden over how long it's taken to release sof2.

For me, as long as it is being released, I am happy as can be. I would not care or whine if it was coming out in 2016. :)

You should look on the kickstarter page.

No updates for ages despite promises of regular correspondence. No sign of life on the official web site either.

This was funded nearly 2 years ago and nothing. In the world of mobile gaming, that's a lifetime.

    Draw your own conclusions.

There is a new developer actively working on it. Madgarden is always around, esp. on twitter and gives support to the new dev when asked. Madgarden is working on his own games and Death Road to Canada. No idea where Jeff is or why he's not doing updates.

Jeff's been doing updates, but just through KS. Not super frequently mind you, but they do come - maybe every 3-6 mos.

I'll be thrilled if it ever sees the light of day (and it will be an instabuy - abet with very high expectations), but things like this are why I don't buy into kickstarter.

    Pity.

Kickstarter requires backers to perform due diligence on the creative team's ability to deliver, evaluate if development goals can be met, and whether funding is appropriate, realistic and will be spent wisely.

It's a pitch after all, and it is up to backers to determine whether the pitch and supporting information is sufficient.

Backing a Kickstarter is not investing. Backers do not get a share of the profits - investment capital - just the potential to assist funding an idea that otherwise might never be picked up.

There are no guarantees that one's backed Kickstarter will result in a tangible product, or succeed in meeting the original aspirations.

During the 80s and 90s when PBM (play by mail) was still popular, there were occasion occurrences when games folded (went out of business / owner disappeared) without refunding players their subs. This practice was known as a "dirty fold". If what BlueWomble88 has posted is accurate, then it is more than likely that this Kickstarter is a dirty fold.
