The winners from last week are processing... Congratulations to all the winners! Last week's thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=186627 The first part is nomination where every member can vote up to 5 games to be included in the poll. 10 games with the most nominations will then be added to the poll on Sunday. Poll will remain open until next Wednesday and whichever game has the max votes, will be the GOTW. Please note: 1) Devs cannot vote for their own games. If your game is in the poll, you can't vote. You are free to ask TA forum posters in your game release thread to vote for your game... but please don't post multiple messages about it. 2) This voting is for TA members - no outsiders allowed. If you have to ask someone to create a new account to vote, you're doing it wrong. Notice of this poll will be given in the threads of all nominated games. Additional games that spring up in the next few days will be added to the OP, so no worries. Please wait until Thursday to begin giving nominations - this is so that we can get the majority of games listed before making decisions. Feel free to help out and list games I haven't added yet. I'll post the pending NZ releases to alert the community to them. You can see new games by looking at AppShopper.com and checking the "New" tab. http://appshopper.com/games/new/ Major games out this week: Thread Video Coming tomorrow after sleep time. Vote away!
For the first time in my time with TA, i have only spent money on one game, while the rest (just a couple titles) are downloaded free. Dat one game would have to be Star Command as i have been waiting for it. Liked it, but it didnt feel that great to me. I held off from buying Sorcery coz I have never completed any gamebook on the iOS... Usually finish one or two endings, then it ends up being deleted to free up space. The free ones I got are nice, but werent stellar either. I will nominate 5 titles, which i think deserve it, but i think i will hold off from voting since i only really played 1 game from this week. I guess it's true there's always a first in everything. On to my noms... Star Command Sorcery Ninja Striker Zoombies
Not that bad a week for me... Sorcery! (Love this, game of the week) Dark Avenger (not bad at all) ASCII Shooter (enjoyable old skool shooter)
Might be a week when I don't vote. Star Command doesn't look like my cup if tea. And, I'm with E-P as far as gamebooks so I haven't picked up Sorcery! either. Only game I've downloaded was Dark Avenger, which is better than most Gamevil freemium games but haven't played enough to see how bad the grind gets.
Despite it's flaws, Star Command is my only nomination and will get my vote. I have been enjoying it. At times it seems a little slow paced, at others almost to hectic. There is an exploit being discussed in the game's thread, I'm sure if you plan to use it, it ruins the game entirely. The new game + mode seems like it'll be good. Going back to previously played missions sometimes offers a variation on the original objectives. I'm not far in, Mars in specific works differently. Anyway, I can't think of a game that's near as good this week. Plus, no IAP.
Only two this week: Sorcery! Eclipse Star Command could have been good, but instead it ended up being Uwe Boll's take on Galaxy Quest. If you want an epic tale of aliens and combat amidst the stars, choose Eclipse instead.
