2D remake, March 28, 1800 yen. http://app.famitsu.com/20130321_143479/ -- Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel FFV "and more" are mentioned near the end of the video. Exciting stuff.
Not that they already weren't, but I'm glad to see that Square Enix is really investing their time into iOS gaming.
thanks for the "credit" even thought i didn't discover this i was posted on the neogaf forum from another user I hope if FFVI comes along they gives us a graphic style like the FFIV of psp i'm not a huge fan of the big headed chibis
This GAF -> internet -> GAF thing confuses the hell out of me. I prefer the 2D sprites to the chibi 3D models too, but that "mobile revolution" part makes it seem like they're making a new (possibly chibi) remake.
So hyped for more final fantasy on iOS. I'm super curious to see how the remake direction for V and VI will be. Will it be made like Final Fantasy Dimensions? A complete 3D remake from scratch? Maybe chibi like Brigade and Thearythem. I fully expect FFIV: The After Years to appear after V though.
Fingers crossed "and more" isn't a reference to the next big thing in Final Fantasy licensed social network casual gaming.
If SE was really smart, they'd take a little extra time and port over a 2D original version of FF V & VI before turning it into a 3D monstrosity. Chances are I'd buy both, as well as any other retro gamer fans. I just want to see those original sequences to the beginning of FF VI when I play through it for the first time ever. Wish I could be playing that this Christmas instead of I, II, III, or IV. But thank God they finally went Universal with FF IV.
So from the Siliconera article, it seems like Square Enix decided to release this on the iOS over the 3DS. The chances of FFV being an original chibi remake has greatly increased.
Same here. I love seeing what kind of art people can make with sprites. Chibi style just looks lazy IMO.
Count me in on the list of people who are glad that Square-Enix is taking iOS gaming seriously. It's great to see old JRPGs ported or remade for mobile devices.
Any indication we are getting an English version? I presume we will but everything I see says Japan only right now.
