A few months later, id like to add a few things to my list, mainly Ground Effect, Nicky Boom 2 and We Rule for more catchiness
These budget idevice games (I don't buy many expensive games) have very decent game music, although I wouldn't consider any of their soundtracks to qualify as good music per se: Zenbound Spider Space Ninja Decent retro-styled games with good chiptunes: Squareball Space Invaders IG Platypus Sky Force Canabalt (generic, but effective for the bite-sized diversion that the game is)
1. Enviro-Bear 2010 2. Canabalt 3. Zen Bound 4. Das Cube (by the same composer as Canabalt) 5. Spider: Secret of Bryce Manor Runner ups: Eliss Jelly Car Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Driver
I made a small post here a while ago, but I do love game music and making lists Rolando (2) Edge Zen Bound Bounce On Space Invaders Infinity Gene DDR Jelly Car (2) Toy Bot Series SPACE NINJA!!! (Best iPhone soundtrack by far IMO) Underworlds Hybrid Defender Chronicles Sword & Poker Space Miner Nicky Boom 2 Undercroft
Do you like the music for these games enough to actually listen to it without playing the game, or even buy it, if it were available? Thanks for the Ground Effect mentions BTW
Creepy Caverns Hey guys, Firstoff, please excuse my rude self pimpage! My (currently musicless) game Creepy Caverns just got some exciting news today. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=49693 Prolific 8-bit Music composer Thomas Mogensen (aka DRAX) has gotten behind the game and donated some of his tracks to feature in the game (expect the update on the appstore soon). You can hear one of his tracks in the trailer found at the afforementioned thread, along with a link to a massive archive of free retro 8-bit music. Hope you enjoy! Scott.
