maybe like this? Shark's Treasure : the quest of mermaid Shark's Treasure : the revenge of mermaid and so on?
Fwish, You want advice! Move on to your next project! Leave "Shark Treasure" alone! You still have millions of people that haven't played your game exactly the way it is right now. Move on! I told you before you needed to substitute the subs with divers! The divers get nicked by the sharks and leave a small blood trail (explaining why the sharks follow the (subs right now) divers. Submarines vs Sharks or Divers vs Sharks ........ The human element !!!!!!!!! Man vs creature !!!!!! You missed a great opportunity. So now you have Subs, Sharks and mermaids???? When you are creating a game imagine yourself sitting in a submarine! A shark comes along. So what? You are sitting safe and dry. If sharks trailed you the normal human instinct inside a sub would be to bump into them. A diver can only stay down so long explaining the time factor etc. etc etc. I gave you the hint a long time ago . Jeff
Ideas: Treasure of the Deep Mer-Treasure Bathypelagic (means "deep sea") Abyssopelagic ("bottomless sea") Benthic Conflict ("conflict of the deep", basically) Conflict of the Deep (kind of wordy) Syren's Savior Oceanid Peril Poseidon's Treasure Nereid Adventure Triton's Wealth Hero of the Tritones There's a few ideas there, anyway. Go with whatever sticks. ________ Property Insurance Dicussion
Sorry, Fwish you do have a diver! Fantastic! Now the story will be a lot better! Diver and Mermaids teaming up to defeat the sharks. Ok so you did listen ! Good Stuff!
FYI, there was an old PS1 game that was called Treasures of the Deep. There's also another casual game on the PC by the same name. Forgot to mention this in my previous post, but you should do a search on the USPTO's TESS database to make sure that you're not infringing on someone else's trademark. As the US will be your biggest sales territory, it would be a smart thing to check US trademarks at the minimum. It would suck to use a name that's been previously trademarked or copyrighted for use in videogames and find out after you've gone through the trouble of marketing and creating art assets for the name.
Judging by the poll, most people seem to like the original "Shark's Treasure" title. If you do change it though, make sure it makes an impact. I'm kind of going through the same thing right now with my upcoming game. I also did a poll, but the majority suggested changing the name to make it more relevant to the theme.
Try using thesaurus.com... even if you don't find the perfect word, you'll get a lot of ideas from there. I like using odd words that are interesting and not seen all the time. Maybe substitute "booty" or "plunder" for treasure... gives it a pirate feel, and everyone loves pirates. 'cept maybe ninjas.
sorry fwish...I meant that it was awesome in that it was so different from the original title, just by using a thesaurus. I wouldn't recommend changing it to that title though.
I'd stick with the original title, or just add the quest of the mermaid at the end. But keep shark's treasure, otherwise people might not understand that "it's that game that got featured by apple".
How about Zombie Mermaid? sorry I actually like the original title with a tag line the best ("Shark's Treasure: The Mermaid's Diary" or something like that).
Yeah, a name like Shark Bait: Rise of the Mermaids makes me curious about what the game is about. Sure, its long and won't fit under the app icon, but having short name doesn't do you much good if folks aren't compelled to learn more about your game. To me, Shark's Treasure sounds a little too much like a kid's game. I hope this helps.
