I totally agree with you. Things should just be released all at the same time around the world. (it would also mean I could scrap me USA/NZ/Canadian accounts) =)
I do not want to derail the thread, and this has nothing to do with Pocket Heroes, but I really never understood this thing...I can't see ANY benefit whatsoever. I simply think it's just an 'Apple thing' that became 'law' among most developers. The Appstore share many things with the iTunes Store...so they simply used the same rules that apply to publishing a song (usually not worldwide releases). Which, for videogames, is utterly stupid. Anyway, can't wait to play Pocket Heroes
Sorry for being a bit nitpicky now, but it WILL BE released at the same time worldwide (for example: the release is set at midnight, July 12th 2012 and then automatically executed when this point is reached in every time zone worldwide). An instant and complete worldwide release would mean it is released at a different time everywhere.
So Brandon / dev team, how did you end up handling the case where a player drops from the game or doesn't take their turn after a specified amount of time? I have no end of draw something games where my partner has simply gotten bored and isn't taking their turn, and those are pretty much done with and that's OK given the nature of the game, but in your game there's got to be something more sophisticated at work than the whole game grinding to a halt waiting on someone's turn. So what did you end up doing?
I guess you already know it but the game is out and spreading across the various AppStores as we talk. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=144066
The Mechie looks badass, and aesthetically is my favorite of the characters!! http://f5games.com/2012/07/pocket-heroes-character-profile-mechie/
