    Ah, cool.
I'm all for the name change actually as your posts on the other thread gave the impression that it was different enough to justify it.
I do like the new name quite a lot too.
And thanks for the release date info. Will definitely be picking it up.

Edit. Meant to ask about whether the plot lines are linked or not.
Edit. Nevermind, just got it from the description, must learn to read description before asking obviously answered questions, doh.

Thanks, the name comes from a real place that is well known for hauntings. It was nice to tie it down in reality.

Its a totally different story but we still see it that your playing the same character (from the woods) just a few years down the line.

Ah, I knew the name rang a bell somewhere.
Can't wait to play it, beyond how, obviously, it will be way ahead in the graphics department, but story and atmosphere definitely seem to be a big element.
    Best of luck with it.
There'll be a lot of new stuff installed next month but this will be one of the first played.

Can I ask about replay ability? As its open world, I'm just wondering how that will be reflected once finished with the story? Or if it will be?
And a question about sound effects? I'm guessing that earphones in a dark room would be the recommendation.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit. Oh and on a straight play through, what kind of play time can we expect?
    Thanks again.

I wasn't really into The Woods 1 but this one is too huge to be ignored. Bring it on!

I love the new name. The description and screenshots look very polished; this project has come a long way. Between Indigo Lake and Seven Deadly Dolls, Three Cubes is going to corner the market on iOS horror.

Here's a link to "The Woods Chapter 2" (previous Indigo Lake name) thread for prosperity: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=176605

    How is that even possible?
How can 80mb all contain an open world so large a vehicle is required, those decent graphics, rain and lightning effects, etc.?

Hmm... I just hope this isnt a ploy to use Indigo in the title to rake in Indigo Prophecy fans, which is a another great adventure thriller game.

The Woods (by Three Cubes) is less than a 50mb download but graphics are robust and world is big. If I knew how they do it I would probably go off and make my own first person horror game. I think the file size mystery is just part of the game's eerie vibe probably having more to do with occult ritual and satanic pacts involving megabyte conservation than actual computer programming. There's something very suspicious about these TheeCube folks and their graphically rich cavernous app with an uncanny file size. I asked them this same question and they told me that to receive an answer I would have to sign in blood promising them the soul of my first born (and they still didn't tell me).
Respectfully that sounds like the geekiest conspiracy theory I've heard yet; here's my equally geeky thoughts on that (geeks unite!). Besides Indigo Prophecy was only the North America title of a 2005 game called Fahrenheit everwhere else (international box art example: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Fahrenheit_pc_boxart.jpg); and the IP named edition was censored. I'm surprised the Philipines got the Indigo name on that one.

    Thanks all for your interest.

The file size is small as the music is made up of many samples that get mixed together, a bit like midi music. So we can change the pitch of a simple piano note sample to create more than one note etc.

The textures work in the same way. most of the textures are made up of two textures multiplied together, we can mix and match to get different effects.

Games like MC4 use loads of textures as they have to burn in all the normal maps and lighting, while we do burn in some shadows there is a lot of true light sources, reducing the need for so many textures.

Any way at 80mb is still pretty bloated compaired to what you can do with 64kb.

now i need to collect your souls.

I guess we should have called it Fahrenheit Lake.

Genius. Low texture levels, but enhanced visuals through lighting. I guess that should reduce the file size quite significantly.
