App description: 9/10 - GOLD AWARD "Fun, funny, and fundamentally unputdownable, Card City Nights is a fantastic mix of casual strategy and collectible card coolness"
- Pocket Gamer

Effortlessly charming .. a simple yet rock-solid addition to the genre that's well worth a play.

The real hook is the CCG that serves as the games engine. Fortunately, its fantastic.

Card City Nights is an adventure through a city filled with card-nuts and lunatics. Battle for the 8 legendary cards to enter the biggest competition this city has seen yet.

Card City Nights is not a traditional card-trading game. It's an adventure game with zany characters to meet and weird locations to explore. In the center is our new card battle system that breaks away from the fantasy TCG mold with connecting cards to form combos.

* 8+ hours of gameplay in a singleplayer adventure
* Connect cards to form combos
* 180 unique cards with characters from the Ludosity universe
* No IAP's in this game! You collect booster packs by simply playing the adventure from start to finish
* An amazing soundtrack in a blend of Jazz and Hiphop

From the makes if Ittle Dew. Recommended from my time with it on Steam, especially at the introductory price!

Pocket Gamer has a review a few days back. They love it!

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPad/...ew.asp?c=57648

Even though there is no MP, but there is no IAP either, I am giving it a shot.

Statement: Star Wars has 2 characters with strange use of grammar: Yoda and HK-47. I pick HK-47 for it is meaner.

Honestly, I was never terribly good at games. - Finch (PoI S2E16)

The fact that the review mentions the 1997 PC MtG game alone makes it worth reading. That game was incredible, going to have to find some way to play that now!

OT: double dipped just to support a dev making great games, will probably play through it again anyway so definitely worth it!

Right well I've only played three matches so far far but this looks pretty cool, I'll try to explain.
Your playing field is a 3x3 grid and you have to place cards from your hand into the grid to make combos of 3 usually unless it's a special card, now each card has little arrows on it and that's what you have to match up to make the combos, then you choose to either attack your opponents life points or one of their cards,
There's 4 different types of card, attack, defence, health and neutral.
You buy and win booster packs of cards to make your deck, which has a limit between 25 and 40 cards. Each turn one of you goes first (decided by a coin toss) then you take turns placing one card and drawing a new card making combos and attacking each other until one of you has no life points.
For 69p this is a no brainer if you like card games.
It Has my recommendation. Just like a surprise out of nowhere a cool card game.
Battles seem nice and fast so far to, so it's not a game you have to sit and figure out for hours.
(I did go into the options and turn battle animations up to x2 to make things a little quicker)

Thanks for the impression.

Actually it is not "out of nowhere". Android version has been out for some time, Both IOS Board Games blog and Pocket Tactics mention this earlier.

Wasn't expecting this to only be a buck. Bought. No thought required.

I bought this a few days ago on Steam and I am loving it!

At this price, I will double-dip.

To further explain: this card game is basically like Final Fantasy's "Tera / Triple Triad" or "Pazaak" from KotoR with some variations in gameplay. And it's cool.
You can read my complete review on Steam.

Hi, you seemed to be lost on the Internets.
This is TouchArcade, where 2$ for a game is too much, 5$ is an outrage, and 10$ or more is putting sugar in their car tanks whilst killing puppies.

I've never played any card games like this.
I was considering getting the new Adventure Time one, but the timers held me back.

For a buck, is this a good entry into the genre?

edit: "* An amazing soundtrack in a blend of Jazz and Hiphop" - and with this- I'm SOLD!
